Ray Chavez
Ray Chavez is 105 years old, making him the oldest living Pearl Harbor survivor. He was born in March of 1912 and was raised in Southern California. In our interview he shares stories of his life before joining the navy. These include going to school, being a landscaper and eventually he enlisting himself. From this point on, he then tells us about being in the navy, and his role in the force, which was mine sweeper. He also included his first hand of account of the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as his thoughts on when the United states dropped the atomic bomb on Japan.
